Your neighborhood dentist, in the heart of the city, that’s what it’s like to visit Cambie Village Dental (CVD). Let’s face it; going to the dentist can be a stressful thing. In simpler days everyone in the village knew everyone else. This familiarity allowed for a connection and a genuine trust to develop over time. To encourage the development of that relationship, welcome to the community which is Cambie Village Dental.
Who Are We?
CVD is a fairly unique professional entity as it is operated by the brother and sister dentistry partnership of Harman and Sharon Mangat. Both of the principals were born and raised in the Lower Mainland, having grown up in the region they continue to call home. Harman graduated from St. Georges High School while Sharon is a graduate of Crofton House, both Vancouver-based private schools. Following high school they completed their undergraduate degrees at UBC and both ended up graduating from UBC School of Dentistry, albeit a few years apart.Dr. Sharon completed her BSc in 2002, DMD 2006 and Dr. Harman completed his graduation as BSc. 1999, DMD 2003.
Dr. Sharon Mangat is an active member of the dental community. She is committed to all areas of dentistry, with a special interest in pediatrics, cosmetics, and restorative dentistry. A member of the British Columbia Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association and the Vancouver and District Dental Society, Sharon is dedicated to providing the best in dental care in a relaxed and comfortable environment. When not working she enjoys many activities including yoga, travelling and hiking.
Dr. Harman Mangat maintains his primary practice in Deep Cove. He has been the primary dentist and owner at Seycove Dental in Deep Cove for over 10 years. He has also completed many hours of continuing education in various areas of the dental profession. Most recently he has taken an interest in Dental Sleep Medicine, having completed a mini-residency at Tufts University in 2014. Harman works at CVD one day a week with a specific focus on dental sleep medicine and oral appliance therapy to treat sleep apnea.
What Are We?
CVD is a modern paperless dental practice which opened in 2012. When building the office the pair wanted a clean and modern facility they could be proud of. Their practice utilizes cutting edge dental technologies such as digital radiology and paperless charting. But the human factors were also considered when the office was planned. Patients will find televisions in every chair as well as individual headphones to ensure they are comfortable and entertained while having their dental work completed.
Where Are We?
Cambie Village Dental is centrally located on 7th Avenue near Cambie Street. Both Harman and Sharon live in the area and were first attracted to this great setting by its local amenities and the energy of being just across the water from Vancouver’s bustling downtown core. The Cambie corridor boasts major retailers such as Whole Foods, Best Buy and Canadian Tire, as well as an eclectic mix of local shops and restaurants. CVD is a short walk from False Creek and is conveniently located between the Olympic Village and Broadway stops on the Canada Line.
Why Cambie Village Dental?
The name Cambie Village Dental stems not only from its physical location, but from the owner’s personal philosophy as dentists. Despite being located in the heart of a busy cosmopolitan city Harman and Sharon’s goal is to provide their patients with the Cambie Village Treatment. Their wish is have their patients feel as if they are visiting their neighborhood dentist.
